ITU Gender Champions Programme 2027 for Young Women in Digital Innovation [Deadline: November 15]

Applications are open for the inaugural ITU Gender Champions Programme, which will support young women using technology and digital innovation to advance inclusion and create change in their communities.

Implemented by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) with support from Australia and Women’s WorldWide Web (W4), the programme will select up to four women aged 18–25 for its first cohort.

What the Programme Offers

Selected Gender Champions will participate in the AI for Good Global Summit 2027, taking place in Geneva, Switzerland, from June 21–25, 2027.

ITU will provide:

  • Round-trip economy airfare to and from Geneva
  • Accommodation for the duration of the stay
  • A per diem subsistence allowance
  • Opportunities to connect with technology experts, policymakers and innovators
  • A global platform to strengthen and amplify their work

Subject to sufficient funding, selected Champions may also receive support to implement or strengthen a community-level project advancing women’s and girls’ digital inclusion, access, skills or empowerment. This additional project support is not guaranteed.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must be young women aged 18–25 at the time of application and should already be using technology or digital innovation to create positive change.

  • Technology-enabled solutions
  • Women’s and girls’ digital empowerment
  • Inclusive digital policy

Applications must be submitted in English. The published eligibility rules do not specify a nationality restriction.
