MINDS Scholarship Programme for Leadership Development in Africa [Deadline: Rolling]
The Mandela Institute for Development Studies (MINDS) Scholarship Programme provides opportunities for African students to pursue postgraduate studies (Honors or Master’s degree) at one of the MINDS preferred institutions outside their home country. Scholarships are available for full-time studies and cover various expenses, including: Tuition, Accommodation and meals, One return ticket per duration of studies, A fixed stipend
Eligibility Criteria:
To be considered for a MINDS Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a national of an African country, residing in any African country
- Have been formally accepted by one or more MINDS preferred institutions outside of their country of citizenship and/or residency
- Be accepted by a MINDS preferred institution to pursue postgraduate studies within the upcoming year
- Have obtained at least 70% in each subject/course in the last two completed years of study
- Provide evidence of demonstrated leadership abilities or potential as outlined in the application form
- Submit a complete online application form with the required supporting documentation

The Archbishop Tutu Leadership Programme (ATLP) for Emerging African Leaders 2025 [Deadline: September 6]
The African Leadership Institute invites applications for the 2025 Archbishop Tutu Leadership Programme (ATLP), a premier initiative to develop Africa’s top young leaders conducted in partnership with Oxford University’s Said Business School. This programme seeks to empower individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership capabilities and are poised to make a significant impact across various sectors of society.
Programme Structure: Participants will engage in two intensive nine-day workshops. The first workshop will take place in South Africa in April 2025, and the second workshop will be held at Oxford University and in London in September 2025.
The costs on the programme – accommodation, tuition, subsistence, etc. – will be covered by the Fellowship.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicants must be between 30 and 40 years old as of April 30, 2025.

MTN Changemakers Project [Deadline: September 8]
The MTN Foundation, through its MTN @25 initiative, is launching the Changemakers project to empower individuals and organizations that are making a positive impact in their communities across Uganda. This initiative aims to support community-driven projects that enhance economic growth and improve quality of life in key areas such as economic empowerment, education, health, water and sanitation, and agriculture.
Who Can Apply:
- Ugandan citizens aged 18 and above.
- Individuals and organizations with innovative ideas or ongoing projects that benefit their communities.
Support Offered: Up to 25 community projects will be selected, each receiving support of up to UGX 20 million.
Projects from all five sub-regions of Uganda (North, East, Greater Central, Central, and West) will be considered, with a special focus on initiatives that benefit youth, women, and persons with disabilities.

The Mandela Washington Fellowship will bring up to 700 young leaders to the United States in the summer of 2025 for a comprehensive executive-style program that is designed to build skills and empower Fellows to lead in their respective sectors and communities.

The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Pretoria in South Africa provides financial assistance and mentorship support to students who have demonstrated excellence in their field of study but may not be able to afford higher education costs.

The Government of the Czech Republic is offering scholarships to support the study of foreign nationals from developing countries at public institutions of higher education in the Czech Republic. Applications for the academic year 2025/2026 are now open.

Scholarship Details:
These Government Scholarships cover the standard length of study and are available in two categories:
- Czech-Medium Follow-up Master Study Programmes:
- Includes a one-year preparatory course in the Czech language combined with field-specific training.
- Designed for graduates of bachelors degree programmes.
- Scholarships are awarded to students enrolling in selected study programmes taught in Czech.
- Entrance examinations are typically required by the respective university, and passing these exams is a precondition for receiving the scholarship.
- English-Medium Follow-up Master Study Programmes or Doctoral Study Programmes:
- Available to graduates of bachelors or masters degree programmes.
- Scholarships are awarded to students enrolling in study programmes taught in English.
