The StartHub Africa Market Access Program is a 12-month initiative implemented by StartHub Africa in partnership with SABAA.education – Bildung für Subsahara Afrika gGmbH, and funded by SCHMITZ STIFTUNGEN.
The project focuses on strengthening access to formal markets for young small business owners operating in Uganda’s agro-processing and food sector. Through structured business training, certification support, and organised distribution pathways, the program supports entrepreneurs in transitioning from informal selling to supplying supermarkets and retail outlets.
Eligible applicants must:
- Be youth aged 18–35
- Produce processed food products (e.g., dried beans, porridge, honey, peanut butter)
- Operate as micro-entrepreneurs in the food sector
- Be based in Greater Kampala, Gulu, or Lira
- Be committed to growing their business and accessing formal markets
- Be available to attend 1.5-day regional training sessions
