
The CivicHive Civic Tech Fellowship is a 20-week bootcamp and implementation programme for early-stage civic innovators across West Africa. Designed to incubate tech-enabled solutions that tackle social challenges, the fellowship welcomes ideas at any stage—from hyperlocal initiatives to regional platforms.
Thematic Areas:
- Artificial Intelligence for Good: Civic solutions that use AI responsibly to address social challenges, mitigate bias, and improve governance.
- Low-Cost Climate Tech Solutions: Affordable technology addressing climate adaptation, agriculture, food security, and community resilience.
- Technology for Social Good (Health, Education, Justice): Innovations that improve access to public services, protect rights, and empower citizens.
- Advocacy and Social Movements: Tools that strengthen civic organising, collective action, and citizen-led movements in challenging contexts.
Selected fellows will receive:
- Technical, product, and legal support
- Mentorship from experienced civic tech leaders
- Access to a regional civic tech network
- Monthly stipend throughout the fellowship
- Support to prepare solutions for launch and early scaling
- Paid trip to attend the 2026 West Africa Civic Tech Conference
Applicants must:
- Be citizens or residents of any West African country
- Be individuals or teams with a civic tech idea operational for 1–3 years
- Align their solution with one or more thematic areas
- Demonstrate public-interest or social impact focus
- Commit to full participation for 20 weeks
- Be open to mentorship, peer learning, and collaboration
