Applications are open for the Digital Africa Seed Fund (DASF), a pan-African seed investment fund backing technology startups that have moved beyond the earliest stages of development and are ready to build traction and scale.
Launched by Digital Africa, DASF is targeting a fund size of €30 million to €50 million and plans to invest in around 30 startups across nearly 20 priority African markets.
Individual investments are expected to range from €300,000 to €2 million, with Digital Africa’s current fund platform indicating an average initial ticket of approximately €300,000.
Who Is DASF Looking For?
- The fund targets African technology-enabled startups at MVP or traction stage, particularly ventures operating in ecosystems that have historically received less venture capital.
- Priority areas include: Artificial Intelligence | Fintech | HealthTech | ClimateTech | Space Technology | Digital Infrastructure
- Digital Africa will assess applicants based on their business model, potential for regional growth, founding team and measurable impact.
- DASF combines investment capital with structured support intended to reduce execution risk and help startups reach milestones required for larger institutional rounds.
From Fuzé to Series A
The fund forms part of Digital Africa’s wider financing pathway for African entrepreneurs.
Its Fuzé programme provides earlier pre-seed investment, while DASF supports companies that have reached MVP and traction. Startups that mature further may subsequently become candidates for Series A and growth financing from Proparco and other professional investors.
The investment process begins with an online eligibility assessment, followed by analysis and due diligence, presentation to the Digital Africa investment committee, and final legal and financial diligence before closing and disbursement.
