
Applications are open for the 2027 Maurice R. Greenberg World Fellows Program at Yale University, a four-month residential fellowship for accomplished leaders from around the world.
Based at Yale’s International Leadership Center within the Jackson School of Global Affairs, the programme brings together a small, geographically diverse cohort of leaders working across different professions and sectors.
World Fellows spend mid-August to mid-December 2027 in residence at Yale University in New Haven, United States, where they participate in seminars, professional development, mentoring, research and wider university life.
What the Fellowship Offers
The programme is designed to give established leaders time and space to expand their perspectives, strengthen their leadership capabilities and build relationships across sectors and countries.
World Fellows can:
- Participate in weekly seminars and discussions
- Receive individual and group coaching
- Audit courses from across Yale University
- Work on independent or collaborative projects
- Engage with Yale faculty, students and visiting leaders
- Give talks and participate in university panels
- Mentor Yale students
- Join a global network of more than 450 World Fellows from over 100 countries
Financial Support
Selected Fellows receive a compensation package that includes:
- A taxable stipend towards living expenses in New Haven
- A furnished one- or two-bedroom apartment for the programme period
- Medical insurance
- Round-trip travel from the Fellow’s home country
Fellows must be available to live in New Haven for the entire four-month programme.
Who Can Apply?
The programme is designed for established professionals who are generally five to 25 years into their careers and have demonstrated significant achievement at regional, national or international level.
There is no formal minimum or maximum age requirement. Yale notes that the average World Fellow is around 39 years old.
Applicants must:
- Be citizens of a country other than the United States
- Be fluent in English
- Have a strong record of professional achievement and integrity
- Demonstrate leadership and commitment to positive social impact
- Show potential for continued leadership and wider global influence
- Be available for full-time residence at Yale from mid-August to mid-December 2027
Dual U.S. citizens may apply, although preference is given to candidates whose work is focused outside the United States.

- A résumé or CV of no more than three pages
- A personal statement of up to 600 words
- Three letters of recommendation
- A brief video statement
- A US$20 application fee
