Menterprise Africa has launched a six-month fundraising campaign to mobilise the financial resources that will support its operations in 2027.

The drive, which will run from September 1st, 2026 to March 31st, 2027, is supported by the New Africa Fund in its role as a fiscal sponsor of the burgeoning Uganda-based social enterprise. New Africa Fund is a US-registered public charity that offers African non-profits and social enterprises free administrative services and tax-exempt tech infrastructure to receive international payments securely.
The organization seeks to raise 536,550,000 Uganda Shillings (or US$141,799) to finance content development tailored for Africa’s entrepreneurs and innovators, produce learning resources for its knowledge hub, and undertake planned training and mentorship activities, and meet its administrative and operational financial obligations.
Menterprise Africa was legally registered on 23 January 2024 to expand access for African innovators through storytelling, resources, and capacity building. Since then, it has distinguished itself as a centralized, multiplatform agency for news, information, opportunities, and knowledge on tech-driven innovation and entrepreneurship across Africa.

Benon Oluka, a co-founder of Menterprise Africa, said organization was born from the realization that while Africans are increasingly developing innovations and enterprises of the highest international standards, the documentation of such inventions is fragmented, robbing them of the opportunity to have a much wider impact across Africa and beyond.
“We set out to develop a digital repository of knowledge about African innovation and entrepreneurship that would serve as a one-stop centre for discoveries, opportunities, resources, tips and tools,” Oluka said. “We started this as a voluntary undertaking. However, as the organization’s work gained traction across the continent and beyond, we have reached a point where we need an injection of substantial resources not only to continue offering our audience what we already do, but also to bring other ideas to life.”
Currently, Menterprise Africa runs a website and five social media accounts where it shares diverse content showcasing the products of African innovators and disseminates opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs. During the monthly Menterprise Talks, which are broadcast free of charge, the team invites experts to offer insights and tips to innovators and entrepreneurs on topics such as intellectual property awareness for tech innovators (see here part two of the session) and AI tools for journalists and content creators.
Bridging Knowledge Gaps
Menterprise Africa is also bridging knowledge gaps in Uganda’s entrepreneurship ecosystem by equipping beneficiaries, especially underserved communities and marginalized groups like persons with disabilities, youths, women and refugees, with digital and entrepreneurial skills.
According to Menterprise Africa’s Director of Programs, Strategy and Partnerships, Miriam Ademun, the organization’s latest fundraising campaign was inspired by rising demand for its programmes.
“What inspired us is the growing demand for our programmes,” she said. “Every day, we meet young people, women, persons with disabilities, and refugees who have incredible potential but lack access to opportunities. Our previous fundraising campaign showed us that people are willing to invest in meaningful change. This campaign builds on that momentum.”
Ademun added that the campaign also aims to raise funds that will enable the organisation to expand its capacity-building programmes, reach more communities, and create sustainable opportunities through entrepreneurship and skills development.
Ademun explained that the funds raised will, among others, support Menterprise Africa’s entrepreneurship, business incubation, digital skills, and employability programmes targeting women, youth, refugees, persons with disabilities, and other underserved communities.
“Our focus is on empowering people with the skills, knowledge, and support they need to build sustainable livelihoods and become economically independent,” she said.
Noting that “every contribution matters, no matter the size,” Ademun called on individuals, businesses, and development partners to support the initiative.
“By supporting this campaign, you are investing in the potential of aspiring innovators and entrepreneurs and helping create opportunities that transform lives. We invite individuals, businesses, and development partners to join us in building more inclusive and resilient communities. Together, we can create lasting impact,” she said.
Building on a Successful 2025 Campaign
This six-month campaign comes nearly a year after the New Africa Fund selected Menterprise Africa to join the second cohort of its Africa Impact Fundraising Grant Program. The President of the New Africa Fund (NAF), Steven Beck, said then that Menterprise Africa had emerged as one of the 52 finalists from 4,000 applicants.

By the end of the month-long 2025 campaign, which ran from November 1 to 30, Menterprise Africa raised $6,468.44 and took first place as the recipient of the highest number of individual donations. That performance earned Menterprise Africa another $5,000 in matching funds from the New Africa Fund, plus a $1,000 bonus for receiving the most individual donations. In total, Menterprise Africa walked away with $12,245.81.
Additionally, Menterprise Africa received a year-long fiscal sponsorship offer from the New Africa Fund, which the organization seeks to leverage to mobilise funds to grow what has turned out to be an already impactful, fast-rising organization through this six-month fundraising campaign.
