African nonprofit organisations, community-based organisations (CBOs), and social enterprises are invited to apply for the Africa Fundraising Incubator (AFI) 2026, a multi-stage capacity-building programme by the New Africa Fund (NAF). Formerly known as the Africa Impact Fundraising Grant, the programme helps organisations build sustainable fundraising systems, strengthen institutional capacity, and expand their impact.
Selected organisations will receive fundraising training, one year of free fiscal sponsorship, and the opportunity to access up to USD 5,000 in matching funds during a live fundraising campaign.
About the Programme
Many African organisations are making meaningful contributions in their communities but struggle to secure consistent, unrestricted funding to sustain and grow their work.
The Africa Fundraising Incubator was established to address this challenge by equipping organisations with practical fundraising skills, institutional support, and opportunities to diversify their funding sources. Rather than focusing solely on grant applications, the programme helps participants develop long-term fundraising strategies centred on small-donor giving and community support.
Programme Structure
The Africa Fundraising Incubator is delivered in four stages.
Online Fundraising Training: Up to 150 organisations will participate in specialised virtual training covering the fundamentals of successful small-donor fundraising campaigns.
30-Day Fundraising Challenge: Participants will apply their learning by launching live fundraising campaigns, with the opportunity to receive up to USD 5,000 in matching funds from the New Africa Fund.
Fiscal Sponsorship: All participating organisations will receive 12 months of free fiscal sponsorship, helping reduce administrative barriers while strengthening organisational operations.
In-Person Boot Camp in Rwanda: The 20 top-performing organisations will be invited to an all-expenses-paid, week-long leadership and fundraising boot camp in Kigali, Rwanda.
