Applications are open for AWIEF Pitch n Grow 2026, the annual pan-African competition supporting women-led ventures with growth opportunities, visibility, and founder development. Open to women entrepreneurs across all African countries, this year’s edition focuses on ventures applying deep technology to address local challenges and unlock scalable solutions.
Organised by the Africa Women Innovation & Entrepreneurship Forum, the programme is designed to identify and strengthen women-led businesses at different stages of growth while connecting founders to mentorship, exposure, and opportunities that support long-term expansion.
The 2026 edition is built around the theme, Deep Roots. Digital Futures., highlighting the role of deep technology in responding to African realities and opportunities. Participants compete within stage-appropriate tracks that recognise differences in venture maturity and growth needs, creating tailored pathways for support and development.
Competition Tracks
Idea Track: For pre-venture businesses with validated concepts and early-stage prototypes.
- No minimum revenue required
- Under 18 months of operation
- Solo founders or small teams of fewer than five members
Startup Track: For early-stage ventures already operating in the market.
- Revenue-generating businesses
- Registered business entities
- Operating history between six months and three years
Scale-Up Track: For established ventures preparing for wider expansion.
- Revenue above USD 500,000 or institutional funding
- Expansion across at least two African markets
- Operating history of more than three years
Applicants must:
- Identify as a woman founder or co-founder
- Be citizens, residents, or registered operators in an African country
- Build ventures with a deep technology component
- Serve African markets as a primary focus
- Be at least 18 years old
- Commit to attending the AWIEF 2026 Conference finals if selected
